Why did the giant pickle cross one of Pittsburgh’s sister bridges? To get to the Byham Theater of course!
What’s so funny about that? You’ll see for yourself when the National Comedy Center, the United States’ official cultural institution and museum dedicated to comedy, and Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) team up to premier the “Pickles & Giggles Comedy Showcase” on the eve of this year’s Picklesburgh festival. The live show spotlights four of the nation’s funniest, up & coming comics, July 14 at the Byham Theater in Downtown Pittsburgh. Made possible with support from Southern Tier Brewing Company, ticket holders will also have a chance to purchase their limited-edition pickle beer made especially for Picklesburgh. John Chamberlin and Rachael Rennebeck of the popular Pittsburgh podcast YaJagoff, and the newly launched YaJagoff on Q nightly radio show on station Q92.9 FM, will be hosts for the evening.
Located in Lucille Ball’s hometown of Jamestown, NY, the National Comedy Center is collaborating with PDP for its first foray into Pittsburgh with “Pickles & Giggles Comedy Showcase,” which, in addition to nationally touring comedians, will also feature three of Pittsburgh’s funniest, homegrown talents, in partnership with Arcade Comedy Theater.
Presented July 14 at 8:00 pm at the Byham Theater, tickets for the “Pickles & Giggles Comedy Showcase” go on sale to the public Friday, June 24 at noon with prices ranging from $20 to $60, which includes a limited number of VIP premium seats. Every ticket holder is eligible to receive 50% off a single admission to the National Comedy in Jamestown, NY plus a $10 Dollar Dill good towards any single purchase at an official Picklesburgh bar or festival merchandise. Vouchers for both offers will only be available at the theater and restrictions apply. Details and a link to purchase tickets can be found at Picklesburgh.com.
